Because they are so short-lived, every year I am amazed to see this grove of bluets. How can I forget they are there?
They are so tiny, they are easily missed up close!
It's not very often I see ducks among the geese, but this year I expected it. The little fellow in the upper left has been a lone swimmer all winter. I know, because I have been watching him. He may actually be a her--a teal.
This individual, on the other hand, is someone new. So very much bigger, and looking like an escapee from someone's pond.
