First babies of Spring

It's Memorial Day weekend and I finally spotted our first goslings of 2011.  Seems very late to me.  It will be a couple weeks before we see ducklings.

Here's a shot with their parents.  If you are like me, babies are fine, as long as I know they are being well tended by competent adults.

Here is the only other family we saw this weekend.  They are taking them to the brooding island.

I say "we" because this little girl was near me at all times.  She's following her nose, and not terribly interested in the geese.  She knows she can't follow them into the river, and she certainly can't fly.
